Hypnotherapy
A personalised approach to help you create meaningful change, feel more in control and move forward with greater confidence.
A personalised approach to help you create meaningful change, feel more in control and move forward with greater confidence.
Hypnotherapy uses focused attention and deep relaxation to help you become more receptive to helpful ideas, perspectives and ways of responding.
You remain aware and in control throughout. Rather than making you do anything against your wishes, hypnotherapy works collaboratively with the goals and changes that matter to you.
Sessions are personalised to you and may include guided relaxation, therapeutic imagery, suggestion, psychoeducation and practical techniques that you can continue using between appointments.
Hypnotherapy can help you change unhelpful patterns, respond differently to triggers and feel more in control. Sessions are tailored to the changes you want to make.
Calm an overactive mind, reduce tension and respond more steadily to stressful situations and triggers.
Work with automatic fear responses and build greater confidence around situations you currently avoid.
Strengthen self-trust, challenge limiting beliefs and feel more able to move forward.
Understand and change automatic behaviours or responses that no longer feel helpful.
Support a calmer bedtime routine and help your mind and body settle more easily.
Use relaxation and focused attention to support coping with discomfort and reduce associated distress alongside appropriate medical care.
Hypnotherapy combines focused attention with therapeutic techniques chosen around your goals. The process is collaborative, and you remain aware and in control throughout.
We begin by exploring what is happening, what may be maintaining it and what you would like to feel or do differently.
I guide you into a comfortable state of focused attention. You are not asleep and can speak, move or stop at any time.
Your session may use suggestion, imagery, rehearsal and other therapeutic techniques to help strengthen more helpful ways of thinking, feeling and responding.
Your first session gives us time to explore what you would like help with, what you hope to change and any relevant background information. I will explain how hypnotherapy works and answer any questions before we begin.
When you are ready, I will guide you into a comfortable state of focused relaxation. The techniques used will depend on your goals, preferences and the way you respond.
Sessions may include therapeutic suggestion, imagery, mental rehearsal, anchoring, parts work or other approaches selected around you.
There is no right or wrong way to experience hypnosis. Some people notice a deep sense of relaxation while others feel focused, calm and absorbed.
You are not asleep
You can still hear me and remain aware of what is happening.
You can respond
You can speak, move or adjust your position whenever you need to.
You can stop at any time
The process is collaborative and continues only with your agreement.
Your experience is individual
You do not need to feel or respond in one particular way for the session to be worthwhile.
As both a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I can draw on a wider range of therapeutic approaches rather than relying on a single method or standard script.
Your sessions are shaped around you. We will explore what you want to change, identify the approaches that feel most suitable and adapt the work as your needs develop.
My approach is collaborative, professional and grounded in the understanding that meaningful change can look different for every person.
Sessions are available in person in New Milton and online.
